The objectives of this event are to explore the views of different national, European and international actors on Fair Trade and to discuss the role that it can play in tackling world poverty. Members of the European Institutions, representatives of the European consumer cooperatives, of the Fair Trade movement and of Developing Countries will actively contribute to the debate.

In this occasion Coop - Italian Consumer Cooperation, Italy's leading retailer, will present its most recent best practice in terms of sound sourcing with developing countries, i. e. the recently launched International Solidarity Campaign "Stop World Poverty", an initiative bringing together 14 Fair Trade projects implemented in Developing Countries. An awareness-raising reception with Fair Trade products will follow.
